Friends,
No matter what happens tonight we know that we have more work to do in Missouri. Like me, I’m sure you’ve been energized by the efforts of those supporting Amendment 3 and many of our local and statewide candidates. Now is the perfect time to build on their momentum and to take this state back.
The only way to make change is to organize. Twitter is broken, Facebook groups are segmented. Candidates are forced to traverse the state inefficiently when that process could be streamlined. It’s long past time to bring it all together- 24/7/365.
Here’s what I envision:
- A place where you know you can have conversations about issues and politics.
- A place where you can get to know other like minded-people and where you can find community.
- A place where volunteers, organizations, campaigns, and allies can find each other without searching and build strength.
It only works if we commit to it, but it can be as strong as we want it to be.
So, let’s get started.
Money doesn’t win elections–earning votes wins elections. To earn those votes, we need to be able to communicate. To do so, we’re going to utilize a platform called Better Networks, which will be managed by Constituent Connection, a company that I co-founded to help candidates win.
Sign up and join the conversation through This Invitation. If you feel most comfortable using an alias, you may, similar to many other platforms. We will be doing our best to monitor dialogue, but this platform will largely be self-regulated. It is meant to be a respectful place to grow organizational strength above all else.
Tonight, feel free to hop in, and join our Election Night Chat!
Finally, we’ll be doing regular outreach to recruit people to join the platform, but we need your help! Forward this email to anyone you know who is trying to make positive change in our state and ask them to join us!
Let’s get together and make change! And let’s have fun doing it!!!
In Solidarity,
Spencer Toder
P.S. Organizations/Campaigns etc.: Should you want a “private channel” for you or an organization you represent, we can provide that, however our long-term plan is to cover the costs of growth by charging organizations and candidates a modest fee for their use.
